Who owns Flock

The major investors.

Flock Safety is privately held. These are the firms that put money into it, named in the company's own funding announcement.

Peter Thiel
A partner at Founders Fund, one of Flock’s investors.
He co-founded Palantir Technologies and serves as its chairman.
Both stated on Founders Fund’s own website. Founders Fund is named as an investor in Flock’s own funding announcement.

And the rest of them

“The financing was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with backing from Greenoaks Capital, Bedrock Capital. Meritech Capital, Matrix Partners, Sands Capital, Founders Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator also participated.”
Flock Safety's own funding announcement. $275 million at a $7.5 billion valuation. Read it.

Each name is from Flock’s own announcement of a single funding round. It is not a complete list of who holds a stake in the company.

And who owns the poles.

“Flock Hardware is owned and shall remain the exclusive property of Flock. … Customer is not permitted to remove, reposition, re-install, tamper with, alter, adjust or otherwise take possession or control of Flock Hardware.”
Master Services Agreement, City of Springdale and Flock Group Inc., § 10.1

Springdale pays for the service. The equipment standing on Springdale’s own rights-of-way stays the company’s property.

Palantir does not own Flock, and nothing on this page says it does. What the names above show is who is standing near the record of where you drive.

Why are we giving our tax money to these people? They are already billionaires.

And personally, I do not trust them with our data, nor do I consent to them collecting it.
